| There was a bug with the Mugen Field that caused it to freeze whenever a player encountered a Slumbering Boss on a floor. However, with patch version 1.01, the bug has been fixed. |
Mugen Field is the optional dungeon in the game that consists of 100 floors and endless possibilities. While the Mugen Field is the site for a large portion of post-game content, it is the home of the best possible way to power up your characters, such as increasing the level cap, getting more slots for equipment and Conditional Skills, and more.
As for when it is available, the Mugen Field opens at the beginning of Chapter 04 - Overwhelming Lady!? You will see an event on the lower portion of G-Castle, which will introduce you to Selfina and open up the Mugen Field for use. As mentioned, it is a 100-floor optional dungeon where you can place bets with your Mugen Points, which determines the kind of enemies, as well as the difficulty of said enemies.
Structure
While it is considered a dungeon, the Mugen Field is nothing more than a series of battles with no exploration. The difficulty of the enemies depends on the bet, as well as which route is taken. Whenever you first talk to Selfina, you must place a bet using Mugen Points. There are ranges that determine that kind of enemies encountered, as well as how difficult they are.
Bet Ranges
While you can only initially place a maximum bet of 1000 whenever the Mugen Field first becomes available, this can be increased via the NPC found on the Rest Stop floors.

Rest Stops
Throughout Mugen Field are floors that are safe spots, where you won't be required to do battle. These are called Rest Stops and they occur on floors 10, 30, 60 and 100. It is here that you will find the NPC that allows you to power up your characters, their skills, as well as increase other things. Also, there may be other random NPCs, such as a shop or another that can completely heal your characters for G.
When you first use the Mugen Field, you will only be able to reach the Rest Stop at floor 10. In order progress further, you need to purchase the options in the Mugen Shop (upper floor of G-Castle), which require Bronze Tickets. Once you have purchased these, you will be able to delve even further.
The Rest Stops will always contain an exit and if you're able to go down more floors, another option to move on. Also, there will be a boss sitting on the one end of the Rest Stop, which you can fight if you want (it's optional). This boss is determined by the bet set at the beginning, and it will "drop" a chest that contains some items after the battle.
