Sonic: Lost World is an action-adventure platformer which changes up the gameplay a slight bit from past Sonic games. Instead of Sonic being able to run at full speed at will, that mechanic is assigned to a specific button, meaning he will run at normal speeds otherwise.
Worlds
The action in Sonic Lost World takes place across 7 different worlds, each with unique gameplay, environments and its own rules. You will sprint through classic or never seen before environments. Read more about the Worlds in this Sonic game here.
Platform
You will take control of Sonic the Hedgehog and sprint through the levels through different perspectives and control schemes. Some levels present themselves as classic 2D platformer areas while others are full featured 3D gameplay zones. The mechanics keep shifting and altering between different modes to offer you a varied experience.
Combat
Players who touched previous Sonic games will recall classic moves like running, jumping, spinning as well as new combat and acrobatic moves. There are many new combat features, including the Powers and the Parkour system which allows you to perform unique and fun moves through which you can defeat your enemies.
Powers
A bunch of special creatures called Wisps will grant you unique powers which you use through the game. They are also called Colour Powers and you can read more about them in our dedicated section here.
Parkour
Sonic Lost World takes the fighting experience forward and adds parkour moves which allow Sonic to walk along walls, spin on them, walk on... ceilings and much more. New combat moves include spin combos, flying kick and other mind-blowing fast moves. For example, instead of stopping, moving towards a tree will make Sonic climb on it.
Bosses
As in every Sonic game in the franchise, from time to time, you will encounter bosses which you must defeat. They are stronger than normal enemies and you must use special tactics in order to get through their challenges.

Multiplayer
The game also supports multiplayer, allowing you to team up with or against your friends through the local or online connection methods. You can team up with a friend in the 2-player co-op mode and dive together in the mind-twisting world of Sonic. Help each other and have fun smashing and slashing your enemies.
