Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog is a franchise originally developed by Sonic Team, and published by Sega. The games were originally platformers, but the franchise has branched out to include more genres.
The first game released was Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis in 1991, and over the years, games have been released for numerous consoles including, but not limited to Sega Genesis, Dreamcast, Nintendo Gamecube, Xbox, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii. The latest game in the franchise is Sonic Generations, released in 2011.
