Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is a third person hack and slash game that is in many ways similar to the gameplay found in the mainline Ninja Gaiden series.
Using Yaiba's sword, players attack and defend against enemies. Most enemies in the game are zombies, which can be dismembered in various different ways. There are various types of zombies, from normal ones to electrified zombies. You won't encounter just normal ones, but even some boss zombies, such as The Priest and the Blister Sister.
Weapons
Yaiba's primary weapon is his katana sword, but he can also make use of his cybernetic arm in combat, and can even use bits of dismembered zombies as weapons. One such example is Yaiba grabbing a zombie with his flail and using it to smack other zombies, or using a pair of arms from a zombie as nunchaku.
In addition to normal weaponry, Yaiba can also make use of elemental attacks. For example, there's a special zombie called the Zombie Bride, which Yaiba can use its spine as an electric whip. It is not clear yet if he can imbue his own weapons with elemental powers.
Bloodlust
In previous Ninja Gaiden titles, there has been what is called an 'Ultimate Technique' mode. In Ninja Gaiden Z this is replaced with a 'Bloodlust' mode, which allows Yaiba to slay multiple enemies around him in quick succession. This can be triggered by filling up the meter in the upper left corner of the screen.
