Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution is a fighting game and direct sequel to Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3. The fifth installment in the Ultimate Ninja Storm series, it will contain a new original character, made by Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto, as well as including characters from the original series and Shippuden.
Not much is known about the gameplay of the game yet, but as a continuation of the previous in the Storm series, it might be very similar to previous installments.
Fighting Mechanics
Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution continues the basic gameplay from the previous entries in the series, including the chakra, substitution and jutsu mechanics. It also introduces at least one new mechanic, the Combination Ultimate Jutsu.
Chakra
The Chakra bar is shown below the health bar in blue and works just as it worked in the previous titles of the franchise, with the ability to charge it by holding a button. Chakra is as important as health and is used to perform various chakra attacks, such as Jutsu, Ultimate Jutsu, Team Jutsu, Chakra Rush, Chakra Shuriken etc.
Substitution
The Substitution in Revolution works the same way as in Storm 3. Even though substitution is a jutsu in the anime, it was previously given a different bar from Chakra. Now, there is a substitution bar which allows players to substitute and evade attacks by using up a bar of substition, which replenishes over time.
Jutsu and Combo Attacks
From the screenshots released thus far, we can tell that the game features different types of Jutsus and Combo Attacks, like previous games in the series. One new Jutsu attack is the Combination Ultimate Jutsu, which has your support character and player character performing a Ultimate Jutsu together.

Chakra can be loaded by pressing a particular button. Depending on the number of button presses, your player will perform a different Jutsu that varies in strength. Single chakra load results in a Jutsu that does little damage. Double chakra load results in an Ultimate Jutsu, which does moderate damage, and triple chakra load results in a Team Ultimate Jutsu. This does the maximum damage with your support characters helping, but also requires the most amount of chakra as compared to the other two.
Items
Players can equip 4 different types of items before a fight begins. These four items can be accessed via the directional D-pad and are shown on the left bottom corner for player 1 and right bottom corner of the screen for player 2.
Items provides users a certain advantage over their opponents, such as health recovery, attack power up, defense power up, speed up and more. These items are temporary and need to be bought and equipped again after they have been used.
