Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for the Nintendo 3DS has shipped more than one million units in Europe and North America. This is the first game in the franchise to reach this milestone in the West. The figures include retail shipments as well as sales on the Nintendo eShop.
The first Monster Hunter game launched in 2004 and the series has only grown in popularity ever since. The franchise as a whole has sold more than 32 million units worldwide as of February 16, 2015.
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate launched as Monster Hunter 4G in Japan on October 11, 2014. The game launched in North America and Europe on February 13, 2015.
