Game engine Unity 5 was announced earlier this year, and although it was announced that the engine would run on consoles, including the Wii U, it was not clear whether the Wii U would actually receive support.
That uncertainty has now been cleared up with the release of a new beta build for the Wii U which uses Unity 5.0.1. Developers who wish to use Unity 5 on the platform will nonetheless have to wait until the fall before they'll be able to submit titles using the engine. In the meantime they'll have to stick with Unity 4.3.
