Thousands of friends, family, and fans from around the world are reported to have visited Saturo Iwata's final resting place over the last few days - a traditional Japanese temple in Kyoto.
Iwata's funeral was held earlier today and was similarly well attended. Many of the Japanese video game industry's most high-profile developers were in attendance including, of course, Shigeru Miyamoto, Eiji Aonuma, and Masahiro Sakurai. Nintendo of America's Reggie Fils-Aime and Bill Trinen were also in attendance.
Shigeru Miyamoto and Genyo Takeda will lead the company in the weeks and months ahead.
Iwata past away last week at the age of 55. He had spent decades in the video game industry and had been President of Nintendo since 2002.
