The PlayStation 4 has continued to exceed Sony's expectations and, nearly two years since it launched, the PlayStation 4 is still the fastest-selling PlayStation platform in history.
"We had a specific target - 5 million units - against what we did, 7 million I think, and it just kept going," Sony Computer Entertainment's president of worldwide studios, Shuhei Yoshida, told Eurogamer. "We had more modest projections before the launch."
"It's still the fastest-selling PlayStation platform, ever, still."
The PlayStation 4 released in November 2013 in North America and Europe and in February 2014 in Japan. It has gone on to sell more than 25 million units worldwide in less than two years.
