2016 sees the launch of the Oculus Rift, as well as other VR headsets including PlayStation VR. However, despite the high number of devices hitting store shelves and the large amount of buzz surrounding them, a report released by IHS predicts that VR will have a slow start.
IHS projects seven million VR headsets to be sold in 2016, with total revenues of $1.1 billion across all devices. 38 million headsets are expected to be sold by the end of 2020. Annual revenue for the headsets is expected to grow to around $2.7 billion a year.
