Sega has released its earnings report for the six month period ending September 30, 2015.
Sega earned ¥154.3 billion ($830 million) in revenue, which is a 1.1 percent drop on the most recent forecast. More notably, it's also 22 percent lower than the original estimate and 2.2 percent lower than the same period in 2014.
Net profits fell from ¥2.8 billion a year ago to ¥964 million. Operation income did, however, increase from ¥2.7 billion to ¥5.7 billion.
The drop in revenue was in large part due to struggles in Sega's Pachinko business, which earned ¥40 billion less than expected.
The Entertainment Contents division, which includes physical and digital game sales, was also ¥8 billion below expectations. Revenue was flat year-over-year at ¥90.6 billion, but physical game sales were down 11 percent and digital sales fell five percent because of the lack of major new releases. Overall, the division earned an operation profit of ¥1.6 billion and sold 3.28 million units of software.
