Mod and Map Tools Coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops III for PC

A post on Treyarch's website confirms that the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops III will be getting official modding and mapping tools in 2016.

"Over the years, the Call of Duty community has proven itself to be among the most passionate in the world – and we count ourselves fortunate to make games for you.

We’ve been listening to one of your top requests and are excited to announce that modding and mapping are coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 PC!"

While the post says Treyarch still has a lot of work to do on these features, it does outline the company's current plan for them:

You will be able to create maps, game modes, and more.
Unranked dedicated server files will be included with the tools so that you can run servers with modded content anywhere you choose.
An unranked server browser will be included so you can easily find and join servers with modded content.
The closed Alpha target date is March 2016.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III will release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 6th.
