Today is Commander Keen's 25th birthday and in celebration video game developer John Romero has released footage of a PC demo of Super Mario Bros. 3.
This demo was created for Nintendo back in 1990 and was essentially a proof-of-concept for a PC version of Super Mario Bros. 3. Where's the link to Commander Keen? Well this was essentially the inspirational starting point for what went on to become Commander Keen when Nintendo turned down John Carmack and John Romero's licensing requests.
