Evo co-founder Joey Cuellar has announced that details on Evo 2016 will be revealed on January 26th. Set to be unveiled are the list of games for the fighting game event, the hotel, and other plans for the event.
The annual event began in 2002, or 1996 if you include its previous incarnation Battle by the Bay, and is the premier tournament for fighting games. Last year's event included Ultra Street Fighter IV, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat X, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Tekken 7.
The Ultra Street Fighter IV final was one of the most memorable battles in recent memory, as fan-favorite GamerBee suffered a controller malfunction. You can check out the full match above.
Evo 2016 will take place in Las Vegas from July 15-17th.
