Pixelmage Games, a new studio composed of several former Sony Online Entertainment (now Daybreak Game Company) members, has announced a Kickstarter for its first game, Hero's Song.
Pixelmage Games is headed by John Smedley who stepped down as Daybreak's CEO earlier this year. It was founded in October of last year and includes the co-creator of Everquest, Bill Trost. The developer has already acquired $1 million from private investors for Hero's Song and is looking for an additional $800,000 through Kickstarter pledges.
Hero's Song is scheduled to be released in the fall of this year. It will start at $20 and features no microtransactions.
