Saints Row 4: Holy... Shit!

The latest installment in the Saints Row series has finally been released. If you are going to IGN to see a review and determine if you should buy it from their score, don't! IGN gave Saints row an ignorant 7.5/10. According to the reviewer, the game gave you "powers that were so powerful that you never need to call your homies or use any of the guns". Yeah, that's not the case AT ALL! I have been playing the game for an hour straight now and let me tell you- I hardly use the powers! See, you earn them by killing very difficult Wardens. In order to upgrade them, you need 'code packs' which are blue glowing things around the city (they aren't hard to find at all). Don't forget about the leveling system, you cant just max out your powers at once, it takes time! The story is also very well done! A lot of people were mad about the lack of rival gangs, well the Zin are a lot harder and are better than the gangs. I wont spoil anything in terms of story, but its pretty fucking sweet! There are even references to other games (i.e Star Fox's Do A Barrel Roll).

Costumes are also so much more detailed and there are even more to choose from. In terms of customizing your guns? When Volition said 'customization is king', they MEANT IT! You can turn your pistols into western revolvers, lasers, even nail guns! And don't forget about the Dubstep Gun; see the way customizing a gun works is that the functionality becomes different with each skin. The Dubstep Gun comes with 3 skins or songs; default (Polyhymnia by Scout McMillan) Pop (Vindicate by Datsik and Excision) and Industrial (unknown song). Vehicles are also getting the customization treatment; more options are added to vehicles along with more vehicles in general.

Gameplay is very similar to Saints Row 3. It's still third person, movement is still similar, and AI's are improved.

I, at first, was bummed that I got the Wub Wub edition. But I was DEAD WRONG. If you saw the revealing video of the replica Dubstep Gun. you would have heard a poor quality sound. BUT, the gun has an actual speaker on it and an actual laser pointer! And the sound is actually very clear with some bass. The statue and Doomsday Button are cool but could be better.

I love the game so far and plan on beating it soon.

Awesome customizing, great story, amazing guns, hilarious gameplay, F*CKING SUPER POWERS

I haven't found anything bad besides difficulty and a few slight glitches that can be fixed.
