Gamers who have lived along the Star Fox franchise are finally getting another game. After such a long wait we finally were treated with a confirmation about the next game in the series. But, we were given very scarce details. All we were told was that it just began development, will utilize new gameplay elements, and will be developed by an external studio. As for story? That's for anyone to guess.

However, I thought about it and came up with a very plausible story that the new game will follow.

The last game we had, Star Fox: Command, gave us a nasty taste in our mouths with it's horrendous gameplay and story telling. With so many endings it seemed like they wanted Command to be the final game. Now, this is Nintendo's call, so they may completely disregard Command and make the game take place after Assault (as if Command never existed).

I actually thought of something that makes much more sense. What do we know very little of in terms of lore? What happened before the Lylat Wars? What really happened to James? What was Star Fox like before Andross?

So much lore is behind the first Star Fox squad, so I won't be surprised to see this game have you pilot as James McCloud rather than Fox McCloud. It'd be interesting to see exactly how James was and what happened to him, as well as other interesting events like the absence of Fox's mother (apparently killed by a vehicle bomb).
