A hacker going by the name of LizardSquad has recently been targeting major game companies. Many people have been experiencing game disruption in titles such as League of Legends and Guild Wars.
As of this writing- League of Legends, Guild Wars 2, Activision Blizzard, Battle.Net, and PSN have been attacked. PSN went down, League of Legends is in an unplayable state (for those of you in California), Battle.net was taken down, and Guild Wars is getting service disruptions. Other titles have been affected as well, some completely stopping service, and others receiving major connection issues.
LizardSquad is on Twitter with an ongoing feed of the attacks. His recent tweet was about Sony and its greed. He stated that Sony gave no care to their customers since the PSN service has no money in put into it. He ended by saying they needed to stop the greed. PSN was also down during this time.
Many believe that the hacker, when caught, will be serving massive time in prison for not only exploiting and illegally hacking, but also threatening to bomb a plane (on twitter he tweeted this).
I only hope this attention seeking nerd is caught. Seriously, what is the point in doing this???
