Bethesda have confirmed that ZeniMax Online Studios, the developers of The Elder Scrolls Online, have had to lay-off a number of staff as a result of restructuring and refinement within the company.
In a statement to Game Informer the publisher claims that these lay-offs will not affect the development and support of The Elder Scrolls Online, saying “We remain strongly committed to The Elder Scrolls Online, and continue to invest heavily to develop new content for PC players, prepare the game for its console launch, and handle our planned expansion into important international territories”.
The Elder Scrolls Online was released April 4th. Although no official sales numbers have been released, estimates peg the game at having around 775,000 active subscribers.
