Jiang Wei is a general that mainly served under the Kingdom of Shu, although he first served under Ma Zun of Wei. He received a lot of compliments from Zhuge Liang and would eventually become his protege, as there was a lot of promise within him. When Zhuge Liang died, he would become his successor and lead the attacks on Wei to the north. He continued to do this and oppose Wei until his death.
He has appeared in numerous titles related to the Three Kingdoms era, including the Dynasty Warriors, Kessen, Dynasty Tactics, Warriors Orochi and the Romance of the Three Kingdoms franchises. His main weapon in Dynasty Warriors was either a spear or trident until Dynasty Warriors 8, where he now uses a double-edge trident.

This game starts with the defeat of Orochi at the end of the first game, the new land consisting of the warriors from the Three Kingdoms Era of China and the Warring States period of Japan found peace.
