Nathaniel is the angel that defends the Crystal Spire in Darksiders II. A warrior in the Kingdom of Heaven for eons, Nathaniel was a member of the Hellguard during the battle with the Nephilim at Eden, alongside the Four Horsemen. Saved by Death during the war, he later left the Hellguard to serve Archon Lucien in the Crystal Spire of Lostlight.
When Death arrived in Lostlight through the Tree of Death, Nathaniel introduced himself as the protector of the Crystal Spire and servant to Archon Lucien.
