Lu Bu is one of the more well-known generals in the Three Kingdoms era, as he was known to have betrayed many different people, and is described as one of the mightest warriors of that time period. There is a saying that says "Among men, Lu Bu. Among horses, Red Hare," which says something about his strength. He excelled in armed combat, archery and even horseback riding. However, his arrogance and previous betrayals eventually led to his capture and execution at Xiapi.

He has appeared in a plethora of titles pertaining to the Three Kingdoms era, from Dynasty Warriors, Kessen, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Warriors Orochi and even the Dynasty Tactics franchises. He is revered and feared as one of the strongest characters in the Dynasty Warriors titles, as when met as an enemy, he is considered one of the toughest challenges in the game. Also, he tends to have one of the highest stats for a playable character in the games. His trademark weapon in the games is a halberd called the Sky Piercer, although in Dynasty Warriors 6, his weapon was changed for one game (it was a pair of cross spears).
