Jonas Malheiro Savimbi is a real-life historical figure that helped fight for the independence of Angola. In Call of Duty: Black Ops II, he appears in the very first mission and is shown fighting the MLPA forces with his own UNITA forces. Thanks to the help from Alex Mason and Jason Hudson, they drive back the MLPA forces and make them retreat. Because of this, Savimbi tells Mason and Hudson where Raul Menendez is keeping Frank Woods. At the end of the mission, he shows up in a Mi-24 Hind to help all three escape from the Cuban forces chasing them.
