Cornelius Slate was once a follower of Zachary Hale Comstock before disillusion lead him to join the Vox Populi in Bioshock Infinite. Serving in the United States military, Slate participated in the Battle of Wounded Knee, where he became acquainted with Booker DeWitt.
After many years of military service in Columbia's name, Slate learned of Comstock's falsified war past and was expelled from the Columbian military for confronting Comstock. Angered by Comstock's actions, Slate joined the Vox Populi and led a small team of soldiers to take over the Hall of Heroes.
