Hattie Gerst was the wife of Samuel Gerst and a minor character in BioShock Infinite. After moving to Columbia in 1906, Samuel starts working for at the labs on Monument Island studying Lamb's powers. Due to excessive exposure to the Siphons, Samuel was diagnosed with stomach cancer and offered a cure by Comstock and Fink in the form of Bettermen's Autobodies.
Despite saving his life, the cure resulted in Samuel's body being encased in a massive metal body. Happy to have her husband alive, Hattie stood by as the citizens claimed him more machine than man with no soul. When she was diagnosed with a fatal illness she recorded her undying devotion for Samuel to play when life got hard.
