Black Mask, born as Roman Sionis, is a villain from the DC universe that first appeared in Batman #386. He was born into a wealthy family, where his parents worried more about themselves than him. Because of their two-faced attitude towards the Wayne family, he eventually became to hate them and murder them while burning down his house. After suffering humiliation at the hands of his former fiancee, he would go to his father's crypt and create an ebony mask to become the Black Mask, a crime lord in Gotham City.
He has made numerous appearances in games, with his first one being a boss in Batman: Dark Tomorrow. Black Mask has also appeared in both LEGO Batman games, although only in the Nintendo DS and 3DS versions as unlockable characters. He appears as cameos in both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, but doesn't truly make an appearance until Arkham Origins, where he is the main antagonist. He has hired eight assassins to try and kill Batman on Christmas Eve.
