Claus F. Lester is a famous magic professor and a playable character in Tales of Phantasia. Having lived 100 years before Cress Albane and party lived, he is praised for his ability to use magic despite being human. Do to this, he is sought out in the past to help teach Cress and Mint the art of summoning in order to defeat Dhaos.
Claus is very blunt and arrogant, telling things as they are, but this is all a mask to hide his incredible intellegence and soft heart. Stubborn and harsh, he is still a restraining force of maturity, though he is also a bit perverted and unashamed of his ogling of women.
