SCE Santa Monica Studio is an American video game developer. It is one of the most important first party Sony development studios, responsible for developing the God of War series of action games and for collaborating and aiding smaller, independent video game developers.
In many cases this collaboration is done via an 'incubation' program which funds and houses independent developers within Santa Monica's own workspace.
