The lone wanderer is the player character in Fallout 3; this character is human and gender is player choice. You start out life in Vault 101 with your father. You are located in the capital wasteland which is the main setting for Fallout 3. Your father is called James and mother Catherine, but sadly she perished whilst giving birth to you because of cardiac arrest of unknown causes.
The Lone Wanderer was born on July 13, 2258 at the Jefferson Memorial, where your parents worked on Project Purity (more found out about later in the game). James (father) later suspended the project and traveled to Vault 101. The Lone Wanderer's origin was kept secret in order to shelter the child from the outside world.
