Fantasy Life is at heart, a role-playing game, but it also blends in a few other genres, such as life simulation. The basic idea behind the game is to create a character and live out one of twelve different Lifes, which are job classes. While the game is fairly open-ended, doing certain quests will open up more areas for you to explore.

Life Classes

The main point of the game is to play out your character in one of twelve different Lifes, all of which are unlocked from the beginning of the game. Each one specializes in one of three key areas, which are combat, gathering and crafting. You are also able to freely switch your Life to another by visiting the Guild Office in a town, allowing you to perform many possible tasks at once.

Challenges

Challenges are the various tasks you can do while living out each Life. Some Life Classes require you to perform the tasks while you are that particular Life, while others can be done while using any Life. For completing the task, you will earn stars, which contribute to leveling up that particular Life.
