Firefall is a massive multiplayer online shooter with first-person and third-person views to help you better see the fog and what is behind you.
Taking place almost 200 years in the future, when an asteroid collided on Earth bringining Crystite to the world, humans have traced the trajectory and found a planet full of Crystite. After building a large ship to reach the planet the ship began to arcfold, crashing into Earth and creating a storm around the globe known as The Melding. Through the Melding a new race emerged, calling themselves The Chosen and declared war on human race.
Character
You will play the role of a surviving human trying to push back the Melding and defeat The Chosen. You create your character as you like, but some options will require money known as Red Beans.
Battleframes
Battleframes are an extension of the character which helps you survive in the harsh environment. There are five battleframe options with different assets to fit in combat, support, tank, damage dealer or other functions. You can always change your battleframe so feel free to test each one and decide which option fits you.

Assault class Battleframes are tested by every Operator across New Eden. Build for delivering high damage and it has a medium mobility and armor.
Dreadnaught class Battleframes are high armored battleframes that can take high amount of damage and counterattack very efficient with powerful weaponry.
Recon class Battleframes are made for delivering high damage from afar and staying away from the battle. It can also be used as resupply support.
Biotech class Battleframes are a combat medical battleframe that can heal, revive and help his whole squad or engage the enemy with poison.
Engineer class Battleframes provides support by resupplying his squad and securing the perimeter using turrets.
The Battleframe Garage
The Battleframe Garage is where you make changes to your Battleframe’s loadout and appearance. You can access the Battleframe Garage through any of the Battleframe Garage stations located throughout New Eden.
- Warpaints – The general color scheme for your Battleframe, consisting of many different color combinations and themes.
- Armor Pattern – Set your armor in a unique camouflage-style pattern to help you stand out even more.
- Bodysuit Pattern – Select a pattern for the bodysuit you wear underneath your Battleframe.
- Decals – Choose from an ever-expanding library of images to adorn on your Battleframe.
Upgrades
During the game you will receive experience by killing creatures or enemies and by completing objectives. You can use the experience to unlock upgrades for the battleframe.
They have three classifications: Mass, CPU, and Power. Many upgrades will require resources which comes in three forms: Gas, Organic and Mineral.
When selecting components or other upgradeable equipment, be sure to pay attention to the Core, Power, and Mass meters. These are your constraints, and you will be unable to save any Battleframe configuration that exceeds their allotted Core, Power, or Mass usage.

Resources
Across the map you can find various resources used to gain skill points or craft items. In order to find the resource you need you can look on the map or check the Watchtowers in a city under your control, where you will receive information about the resources found in that region.
You can scan the place where you are by using a hammer. After the scan, you will get results of the resources found in that area. When you have found your required resource, you can call down a thumper and begin exploiting the area. The thumping procedure will take time and will attract creatures.
You can lift up the thumper at any time, but you will lose some resources. The more health your thumper has when you lift him the more resource you can get.
Other players can join your thumping procedure and the resources will be giving to each of the players, rather than split.
Crafting
In every major city, there will be a Molecular Printer used for refining resources and creating items. At first, you will have raw resources and need to refine them. After refining them you can craft new armor parts, weapons, upgrades or traveling equipment.
For certain projects you have to buy special parts from vendors using crystite. Every procedure takes time, so feel free to explore in the meantime.

Objectives
Your first objective is to synchronize your map by interacting with the SIN Uplink. Throughout the game, the various incursions of the Chosen will assault the big cities and the Watchtowers. If the Chosen gain control over the SIN, the region will no longer inform you of the various secondary objectives until it is recaptured.

Through the game you will receive multiple main objectives that will help you gain more resources and repel the Melding. In time, you will be able to travel to other areas using arcfold technology.
The secondary objectives, such as repairing a crashed thumper, repel the Chosen attack, get rid of an infestation or destroying a storm will reward you with crystite and resources. These objectives are represented by 5 difficulties or stages.
Transport
Every battleframe is equipped with jumjets, which allows the player to fly for a short duration. Across the map you will find Glider Pads that will allow you to travel on longer distances and every city and important zone will have a landing zones, where transport ships arrive and travel to other locations.
Versus Terminals
Versus Terminals are in-game portals for your to engage in Player-vs-Player combat. When you activate a Versus Terminal, the Queue for PvP will appear, giving you the options to queue for one of three game types:
- Team Deathmatch - 5-vs-5, two teams fight each other in an enclosed arena. First team to 25 points wins.
- Sabotage - 7-vs-7, one team tries to capture different points on the map while t he other tries to stop them.
- Harvester - 12-vs-12, two teams battle each other for control of different points on the map until a point limit is reach.
