A Introduction

The first time I played Gyromite over a decade ago I was over at my
relatives My cousins had this game The game was all
right About 8 years ago I finally got the game and have played it every
now and then since buying it
Recently I happened to read a message on GameFAQs that referred to the
Robot that can be used to play this game I happened to check out the game
information for Gyromite and noticed there were no FAQs for the game So
I checked the request list to see if it was even requested and I noticed it
was number 4 Since I know the game pretty well I decided to write my
first FAQ about this game

B Things To Know

Unfortunately I dont have the Robot I doubt Ill ever get a Robot
but if I do Ill add the Robot information on here
When I say you in the FAQ its referring to you the reader Im
adding that info because one of my English teachers in high school said Do
not use you unless its indicated who the you is referring to or something
along those lines
Im going to assume that you have seen a standard Nintendo controller
and are using a standard Nintendo controller
You NEED Two Controllers if you dont have a Robot Though if you have
the Robot Im not the best person to turn to for help with controls
Controller 1 is referring to the controller on the left and Controller 2
is referring to the controller on the right
Im also going to assume that the power is on the game is in you
are at the Select Mode screen and you know how to start things

C Test

Test is actually pretty useless but this is what goes on when you
select it A flashing green screen pops up and says press select When
you press select you are returned to the Select Mode Screen

D Direct

Again its another useless option When you select it you see Prof
Hector a Smick and a big box over head When you press a button the
screen flashes briefly and the button you pressed shows up in the box
Press Up UP
Press Down DOWN
Press Left LEFT
Press Right RIGHT
However pressing B button it shows Close and pressing A button it shows
open The start button does nothing and select takes you back to the Select
Mode screen

E 1P Game A

Selecting this starts the game for one player obviously
The object of the game is to collect all the dynamite avoid the Smicks
the green and yellow creatures moving about trying not to smash yourself
with the gates poles and gain points before time runs out
You start out with 5 lives and 999 on the clock There are 40 phases
levels The turnips laying around are what Smicks like You can move
turnips around if you like The only way to get rid of a Smick is to smash
it with one of the red or blue gates For each dynamite collected you
receive 100 points For each Smick you get rid of you receive 500 points
There are 40 phases and if you win phase 40 it starts over at phase 1

1 Controls

You need to be in the Select Mode screen to select a phase
Press the B or A Buttons on controller 1 to select a phase

To pause the game press select

To exit the game press select then start

To freeze Prof Hector and turn the screen blue press start

To view the layout of the phase pause the game and press left or
right

To move Prof Hector use the directional buttons on controller 1

To move the red gates press the B button on controller 2

To move the blue gates press the A button on controller 2

To pick up and put down a turnip press B or A on controller 1

Standing in front of a green rope press up to go up the rope and
press down to go down the rope Left or right gets you off the rope

2 Walkthrough Of Phase 1

To help new players get the gist of the game here is a walkthrough
of phase 1

With controller 1 press the right arrow to walk right You will
run into a blue gate With the second controller press and hold the A
button and using controller 1 continue right to get the dynamite Now you
can release the A button Continue going right and make sure you avoid the
Smick Picking up a turnip isnt necessary Continue going right until you
get to a green rope where there is dynamite next to it at the top Go up
the green rope to the top and press right so you leave the rope Now you
should have gotten the other dynamite Continue right until you get to the
red gate Press and hold the B button on controller 2 and continue walking
right Make sure you have completely cleared the red gate before releasing
the B button Continue right until you are on the rope Go down the rope
until you reach the bottom floor Now go left and get dynamite After
getting the dynamite go right and back up the rope to the second floor to
get the dynamite by the rope Continue left and remember to avoid the
Smick When you cannot go any further go up the short rope and get the
dynamite Continue left and again when you cannot go any further go up
the short rope Continue on left until you fall off the ledge getting the
last dynamite You have now finished phase 1 and will continue on to the
next phase

F 2P Game A

Just follow the 1P Game A instructions When Prof Hector gets is
crushed by a gate or attacked by a Smick it is Prof Vectors turn
AKA Player 2s turn

G Game B

In this Prof Hector is sleep walking and the only way to direct him
is by using controller 2s B and A buttons to move the gates None of the
other controls work except for pause and exit
The object is to get the sleepwalking Prof Hector to the other side
without crushing him and avoiding Smicks
How you get points is by having Prof Hector move Unfortunately I
dont know how many rounds this lasts because I havent played many rounds
of it

H Thanks
