Gerard DuGalle
He is one of the main characters in the Terran campaign of Starcraft. He spent most of his life defending Earth from its enemies.

Edmund Duke
Edmund Duke is a ranking officer in first the Confederacy and later the Dominion. Voiced in the games by Jack Ritschel, Duke also appears in several novels, including Liberty's Crusade, Shadow of the Xel'Naga and Queen of Blades.

Jim Raynor
Jim Raynor is a major protagonist in the Starcraft franchise. As a former soldier and outlaw who becomes a marhal, he joins Arcturus Mengsk to fight the Terran Confederacy. Later, he forms his own groupand becomes a rebel who seeks to dethrone Mengsk.

Sarah Kerrigan

Alexei Stukov
Alexei Stukov (also spelled Alexi Stukov) is a human from Earth. He was a vice admiral in the United Earth Directorate (UED). Stukov was murdered in tragic circumstances, then mysteriously revived as an infested terran by the zerg to make use of him for their own deeds.
Protoss Characters

Aldaris
Born in 1759, Aldaris was a strong believer in the protoss vision of the New Beginning. He held the virtues of communal achievement and selfless honor above all things.

Artanis
Born in 2238, Artanis was a strong believer of the Protoss Conclave and the destiny of the Protoss Empire, although he harbored a deep respect for Tassadar and the tribal unification for which he fought.

Fenix
Fenix was born in 2102. He ascended the Templar ranks alongside his friend Tassadar as they battled the enemies of the Protoss Empire in countless battles across as many worlds. Eventually he was appointed Praetor of the Protoss Defense Forces.

Raszagal
Born in 1455, Raszagal was imbued with tremendous psychic powers. She was one of the Rogues who refused to submit to the Khala and was therefore loaded onto an ancient, but functional xel'naga ship and banished from Aiur by the Protoss Conclave.

Tassadar
Tassadar was born in 2143 into a generation that looked ahead to a dynamic future. He was frustrated by the stoic view that his elders held of the past and felt that the unbending nature of the protoss and their inability to re-evaluate ancient traditions would be the doom of his race.

Ulrezaj
Ulrezaj was raised at the Alys'aril, a massive library on the moon of Ehlna, the first site the ancestors of the Nerazim (Dark Templar) visited after being exiled from Aiur.

Zeratul
Born in 1865, Zeratul harbored a deep seated hatred for the Protoss Conclave and the Judicator caste who were responsible for banishing his forebears from the protoss homeworld of Aiur.
Zerg Characters

Daggoth
The Overmind created Daggoth to help control its minions. He was made master of the Tiamat Brood, the command fleet of the Zerg Swarm. Daggoth often advised other cerebrates as to how they might best serve the Overmind.

The Overmind
The Overmind was a brain-like entity of indeterminate age. It was created by the xel'naga on the zerg homeworld of Zerus to bring order to the zerg and guide them into merging with the protoss.

The Second Overmind
The death of the first Overmind caused a schism in the Swarm, with Kerrigan and Daggoth each coming to control half of it. Daggoth ordered many cerebrates to merge on Char to create a new Overmind.

Zasz
The Overmind created Zasz to help control its minions. He was made master of the Garm Brood, the primary assault force of the Zerg Swarm. Zasz delighted in preemptive attacks, relying chiefly on surprise to throw enemy forces into total chaos.
Other Characters

Samir Duran
Samir Duran is an enigmatic character introduced in Brood War, where he was voiced by Paul Ainsley. Duran is highly intelligent and manipulative, as well as knowledgeable about both the Protoss and Zerg.
