Rainbow Six: Patriots will take place in New York City as an American terrorist organization, known as the "True Patriots", attack wealthy businessmen, demanding economic equality.
The single player campaign will feature the Rainbow squad up against the True Patriots in New York City. Ubisoft says this will be the most in-depth narrative of any Rainbow Six game, with the player controlling multiple view-points throughout the campaign. There will also be many moral and ethical decisions that the player will have to make regarding how far you are willing to go to protect the greater good.
The True Patriots are a highly-trained, well-organized revolutionary group that claim the American government is irrevocably corrupted by greedy politicians and corporate special interests. They will stop at nothing to see their cause through to the bitter end and, predictably, only Team Rainbow can stop them.
Team Rainbow is an international counter-terrorism operation hosted by NATO and funded by money funneled through the U.S. Department of the Interior. The base of operations for Rainbow is located in Hereford, England, due to the United Kingdom being one of the most accessible countries in the world and having the world's foremost Special Forces unit. Most of the characters in Rainbow are American or British, however the NATO countries of France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, and the NATO ally of Israel have at least one representative each.
