Players guide a fragile, triangular vehicle along an obstacle course whose design is based upon the red girder graphics of the original Donkey Kong arcade game. The player has a limited number of attempts to make it to the end of the course, and receives a score depending on how far they reach and the time taken. Reaching certain locations will activate checkpoints from which the player can continue if the vehicle breaks.
The speed of the vehicle is determined by how far the GamePad is tilted to the left or right. Certain obstacles must be passed above a minimum speed, or below a maximum speed to avoid breaking the vehicle. The left and right analog triggers can manipulate certain portions of the obstacle course, opening passageways, changing the angles of ramps, and raising or lowering platforms.
The GamePad’s screen shows the player’s position in a zoomed in portion of the full obstacle course. The main display shows the whole obstacle course by default, but can be changed to zoom in to the player’s location as well.
