May 2012 - Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 was indirectly revealed in the June 2012 issue of Nintendo Power. Dave Cox, producer at Mercury Steam, was quoted saying that the events of the 3DS game Mirror of Fate would lead directly into Lords of Shadow 2, without the latter having been formally announced at that point.
May 2012 - The game was officially announced on May 31st. During Konami's Pre-E3 2012 Press Conference the first trailer for Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 premiered.
December 2012 - During the Video Games Awards, another trailer was shown, giving more information about the story and gameplay.
