There are seven playable boards in Mario Party: Island Tour. Six of the boards are playable from the start, but Bowser's Perilous Peak must be unlocked by playing through the first six boards.
Each board features changes the gameplay, items, spaces, and even the method of victory. Therefore, the board used has a large impact on how the game plays.
