Quantum Break reolves around the concept of time travel. The game is set in the North East of the United States of America, in the fictional Riverport University.
As a result of a time travel experiment gone wrong, three people (the game's three key characters) acquire the ability to manipulate time. These three characters are Jack Joyce, Beth Wilder, and Paul Serene. Whilst all three are playable characters, Paul Serene is also the game's primary antagonist. Jack and Beth must fight against Paul and his security forces - the Monarch Corporation - in order to save the future before time runs out.
