Akaneiro: Demon Hunters is an action role-playing game developed by Spicy Horse for Mac OS, Microsoft Windows and Web Browser. The newest game by American McGee, the game follows the Alice series, which focused on Lewis Caroll's Alice in Wonderland, but instead focuses on the tale of Little Red Riding Hood. The game was released as a Kickstarter in January of 2013 and was successfully funded a month later.
Boasting the blending of speed and intensity from an action title with role-playing elements. Combat is fast paced, but can be altered through a selection of abilities and equipment, and characters have a multitude of building paths that allow the player to find their perfect play style.

Story
Three hundred years ago, The Order of Akene was founded in Japan by a legendary demon hunter and martyr known as The Red Girl - or Akaneiro. Aided by her close companions, the Dark Huntsman and the the Forest Mother, "The Three" exemplified the tenets and disciplines followed by the Order; maintain the balance between human and demon, light and shadow – walk the shifting line between this world and the other.
Gameplay
Akaneiro: Demon Hunters' world is separated in to Regions, which represent a quadrant of Yomi Island. Each Region contains several Areas, each presenting a different environment style, introducing new enemy and boss types, and contains several missions, forming a small story arc.
