Story

The Elder Scrolls Online is set during the Second Era, roughly 1000 years before the events of Skyrim. The main story concerns Molag Bal, the Daedric Prince of domination, and his attempts to seize control of Tamriel and bring it into his realm of Oblivion, Coldharbour. He is aided by Mannimarco, the King of Worms, a notorious and extremely powerful necromancer.

Locations

The Elder Scrolls Online is confirmed to take place in multiple provinces of Tamriel, unlike recent games in the Elder Scrolls series, which have been confined to one province. Each province is held by one of the three Factions, except Cyrodiil, which is still contested.
