Assassin's Creed Unity will feature a fixed combat and movement system. Parkour is much easier to use within in the game thanks to the new system that Ubisoft describes as "Parkour Up" and "Parkour Down". The combat system was completely reconstructed to focus more on a fighting style fit for the game. Ubisoft stated that the game will have a fencing type combat system implemented.
General Gameplay
Assassin's Creed is an open world, parkour, action game. Players assume control of an assassin that has fluent movement and combat abilities. Arno, this game's assassin, has all of this and a new combat system. Arno can scale walls, jump from building to building, and fight against enemies using the Fencing Combat system.
The game is set up like previous entries, split into major memories, with each one split into minor ones. It also has side missions, which usually entail things like assassinating specific targets and there's a new side mission debuting in this title called Crime Scene. The game promises a more open design when doing missions, meaning
Stealth & Combat
Stealth has always been one of the finer points of the series, considering the game revolves around assassins. Players can sneak around and hide using various methods, such as hiding in bundles of hay or amongst groups of civilians. As long as enemies can't see you, you can kill without raising a ruckus.

Combat in Unity promises to be different from previous entries, with a focus on fencing. Gone is countering and instead replaced with parrying, adding a sense of difficulty to fighting. This makes combat a last resort mechanic, instead of the "always win" ideal it was in previous games.
Game Modes
There are only 2 game modes known right now. This is an untitled 4 player co-op mode that allows players to complete missions with friends and a new mode called Rift. The co-op mode allows players to play through the game's campaign for the first time in the series.
Rift Mode is a high score-type game mode, where players move as fast as they can to collect glyphs, which are worth different amounts of points. A ghost can be seen, showing that player's path and playthrough of the mission.
Side Missions
Assassin's Creed is full of available side missions for you to do and sharpen your skills. At the time of this writing, only 2 types are known, Assassinations and Crime Scenes. In Crime Scenes, Arno can accuse innocent people of murder, when in truth it was really him. Assassinations are the same, giving Arno a target and the mission to kill the target one way or another.
Customization
Players will have the ability to customize the look of Arno whenever they so choose. They can also customize the weapons that are in game.
For Arno's customization, players can give him new coats, boots, pants, shirts, hoods, etc to make him look more intimidating. Clothing, unlike weapons, do not have stats.

For weapon customization, little is known about it. The only thing really set in stone is the existence of customization with weapons. Each one will have its own statistics and can be altered in some ways.
