Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth is a strategy game developed by Fireaxis and published by 2K Games for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, and Linux in October, 2014. Beyond Earth is a spiritual successor to Alpha Centauri, which is not officially a part of the Civilization series due to creators Sid Meier and Brian Reynolds leaving Microprose before its release.
Set far in the future, a calamity known as the Great Mistake has rendered humanity's continued existence on Earth unfeasible, and it falls to you to lead a new civilization on a new world.
