Nintendo will not be following in Microsoft or Sony's footsteps and has abandoned plans to release the Wii U and 3DS in China, according to a report released by game consultancy firm Kantan Games.
"Nihon Keizai Shimbun reports that Nintendo will not execute prior plan to manufacture consoles for the Chinese market," the company's CEO said in a Twitter post.
Both Microsoft and Sony have already released their home gaming consoles in China, despite having to comply with strict rules set out by the Chinese government.
