Well this will create some rage. A Sony rep for the game has mentioned in an interview while discussing a new dodge feature that the PS3 and PS4 versions of Diablo III will feature offline and local 4-player co-op with a zoomed out camera.
"You can have four people on the same screen - no split-screen, we just zoom the camera out. Or if you're offline..." says Sony's John Hight, before being interrupted by Geoff Keighly to talk about the dodge feature.
As you probably already recall, Diablo III on PC, much to the ire of its diehard fans, allowed no offline play so as to protect the integrity of Blizzard's real money auction house. The auction house was created as a sort of post-release revenue stream for the game, allowing Blizzard to collect fees on every transaction. They also allowed no LAN play of course.
With the announcement of console versions for Diablo III at Sony's conference last week, the official forums lit up with rage that this proved that the game had been made for consoles all-along. Surely this latest tidbit will only fuel the fan ire against Blizzard.
