The Pikachu-themed 3DS XL system, originally released in Japan, was seen in a recently released commercial for the upcoming game Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. Nintendo remained mum about the appearance of the Japan-only 3DS variant, but now we know what we've suspected: the Pikachu 3DS will soon be on American soil.
The Pikachu 3DS XL comes with a 4GB SD card and will retail for $199.99. It will release on March 24th, the same day as Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity.
Additionally, Nintendo is offering a free game to those who register a 3DS XL and either Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity or Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon between March 21st and April 30th. Customers who register both at Club Nintendo will receive a download code for one of the following games: Super Mario 3D Land, Star Fox 64 3D, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone!, or Freakyforms Deluxe: Your Creations, Alive!
