A new Legend of Zelda title has been announced for the Nintendo 3DS.
Details of this new Zelda game were released earlier during today's Nintendo Direct presentation. This game, still unnamed, will be set in the same world as A Link to the Past. With this in mind, it is important to note that this game is not just a remake, it's a brand new adventure.
Footage from the broadcast shows that Hyrule will have a similar style and feel as the original A Link to the Past, but will also utilize the console's 3D ability, to add an extra layer of depth to the overworld.
Another interesting feature showcased was one of Link's new abilities. During the footage it was shown that Link can transform into a 2D drawing form. When this ability is activated the game will change perspectives to a side-on angle. While in this perspective Link is able to walk along walls and slide through narrow crevices.
No release date or subtitle has been released for this new Zelda title, but it will be out in time for the 2013 holiday season. A trailer will soon be available on the Nintendo eShop.
