Halo 4, Chicken Assassins

Every year the Vancouver Film School (VFS), a entertainment arts institution that was founded in 1987 host the Game Design Expo, which first started in 2007. The two day event kicked off with a sold-out Industry Speaker Day, featuring the minds behind Halo4 and the Assassins Creed franchise. The common theme of the day and goal of Lead-off speaker Chris Haluke (Halo 4)."propel the industry forward." Was shown throughout the Industry Speaker Day to the aspiring game designers, numbered to be over 200.

"It has been a fantastic and insightful weekend. It's a great experience to learn from such a great mix of game designers." says Dave Warfield, Head of the one-year Game Design program at VFS

Attendees of the Open house had the opportunity to participate in sample classes and test-drive alumni and student made games, as well as be present for the announcement of The fifth annual Women in Games Scholarship, which was established in an effort to bring more females into a male dominated industry. Past winner include Annie Dickerson from the United States, Larissa Baptista from Brazil, and Kristina Soltvedt Wiik from Norway, showing just how worldwide it is.
