League of Legends is a popular game within the eSports community. Tournaments and teams being created to better become gamers, and to give us a sport for something we love.
Riot games, the creator of the strategy game, decided to pull off a very neat April Fools event. This week, they have a queue called "Ultra Rapid Fire".
The name is clear, everything is rapid fire.
Normally, you have a mana bar with a set amount of mana. This was then used to pull of special attacks (abilities). In Ultra Rapid Fire, the mana is gone and every ability cost 0. This means you only have to wait for cooldown to use that ability again. (This isn't turn by turn based. You move freely around the map fighting the enemy and such. Strategy is key because if you run up to an enemy player, chances are you will be killed quickly).
There's more. Cool down is reduced by 80% the normal, making all of your moves spam heaven.
Movement speed is also increased a bit.
I played three matches and have witnessed the chaos. When you play as a character with the "mage" role, you are supposed to be spamming your abilities (moves). In Rapid Fire, mage's are the controllers of the match. They spam their abilites in the first place, the rapid fire only makes them better.
If you play League, I wish you the best of luck. And If you do and havent been on in a bit: get on! This game mode is only available through the week.
