The cost of PlayStation Plus is rising in some territories. Speaking to Joystiq a Sony Rep confirmed the price rise for a handful of countries:
“We slightly increased prices for PlayStation Plus in South Africa, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey and India regions due to various market conditions. Currently, price adjustments are not being planned for PS Plus in the SCEA [North American] region.”
Joystiq note that in South Africa the price has reportedly changed from R145 ($12.86) to R219 ($19.43) for a three month subscription, and R489 ($43.38) to R749 ($66.45) for a year subscription; both increases of over 50%.
