Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft's Xbox Division, previously announced that screenshot functionality would be coming to the Xbox One soon.
However, in a recent interview he confirmed that this functionality is a lot harder to implement than the team first expected, pushing its release back further than they'd like. In an interview with IGN Spencer said:
"It's a little more technically challenging than I thought. Two weeks ago, they think they've found a good solution for screenshots. They're working on it. They know people want it. The team has a path to getting it done, and now it's just prioritising."
This means that the Christmas update will be smaller, but this will at least ensure the platform's servers are fully operational over the Christmas period. Spencer also confirmed that Microsoft are working on reducing the install times for games.
